TUNIS (Reuters) - The African Development Bank (AfDB) said on Wednesday it has lent Tunisia 117 million euros through its soft lending arm to finance a scheme aimed at strengthening the North African country’s economy.
The AfDB said in a statement the programme would help the government’s economic development programme, in particularly increasing private sector competitiveness and economic growth.
The Tunis-based bank added that it would help Tunisia to achieve an annual average economic growth rate of 5.2 percent during 2005-2006.
"Tunisia’s financing requirements amount to about $3,249 million in 2005 and $3,576 million in 2006," the AfDB said. |
